Trafalgar Punch

During the British Sailing Age, men who traveled by sea enjoyed nothing more than a refreshing cocktail to toast the high-seas. Trafalgar Punch is precisely the kind of cocktail they would have served back then.

  • Port Taylor Fladgate 10 Years Old Tawny 12 oz. (35,5cl)

  • Larressingle VSOP Armagnac 8 oz. (24cl)

  • Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum 4 oz. (12cl)

  • Mineral Water 24 oz. (70cl)

  • Fresh Squeezed, strained Lemon Juice 6 oz. (18cl)

  • Sugar cup 3/4 (153g)

  • 1 Whole Nutmeg

Recipe: In a 3-quart punch bowl, muddle the lemon peel and sugar. Let it sit for one hour. Stir in the lemon juice. Add the Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Old Tawny Port, Armagnac, rum and water and stir again. Carefully slide in a 1-quart block of ice. Chill for 20 minutes and grate 1/3 of a whole nutmeg over the top. Ladle out small servings into punch cups.
